2009 Highlights
This past year we have had many accomplishments:
- Award from Healthy Aging Partnership for an Excellence in Fall Prevention for our Matter of Balance and Living Well classes and our outstanding Enhance Fitness program.
- Shoestring Award and financial contribution from the Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union for the Somali Wellness Program.
- City of Seattle Matching Grant to remodel the second floor.
- City of Seattle Matching Grant to offer more digital and computer classes for our community and the East African Community.
- City of Seattle Matching Grant to work with the Youth Nonviolence initiative and paint a mural with youth on the Holly side of our building.
- Boeing Employees Fund grant to install a new HVAC system in the building.
- A donation of an 8 passenger van from King County Councilmember Larry Gossett for trips and services.
- Visits from over 1700 individuals to our programs and services.
- New revitalized thrift store!
- We were featured on the Seattle Channel in their television show City Stream.
- And healthy and active seniors living independently, contributing to their communities and thriving.
