Carletta Carrington Wilson is a member of the Onyx Artist Collective. She has shown work in a broad range of venues, including the Northwest African American Museum.  SESSC is proud to be hosting her installation, Letter To A Laundress, which received a prize as part of the Onyx show at King Street Station this year.  The show honors the work and dignity under slavery and Jim Crow of African American women in our nation’s history.

Intergenerational Photo Project at SESSC

Sign up at the front desk to participate in this unique opportunity.  Must be able to commit to attending all five sessions!
SESSC will host an intergenerational photo project with youth from local photography school Youth In Focus, using the camera as a tool to bridge the generations. Attend five sessions to work with youth to learn about photography, interview each other, and take photos of one another for a final exhibit. You also will keep your photos!

We’re Coloring Anyway!

Dementia Friendly Drumming Circle

A facilitated, Dementia-Friendly Drumming Circle, where people with all stages of memory loss can come together and explore the healing nature of rhythm and beats. Care-partners, family, and friends are encouraged to participate. A limited supply of instruments will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own percussion instruments.
